[2026 MLK Unity Day Parade] the Black Heritage Foundation in conjunction with the City of Houston will be hosting the MLK Unity Day Parade on January 19th, 2026, Downtown Houston, Texas. Every year millions of Black Americans celebrate one of the Founding Fathers of contemporary civil rights, and one of the most celebrated founding fathers is none other than Dr. Martin Luther King, born Michael Lewis King (1929-1968). Dr. Martin Luther King, a southern Baptist Minister and Civil Rights Activist made undeniable contributions to the advancement of Black Americans in the realm of civil rights is something that will never be forgotten.

Both C.J. Eaden and Monique Mason of the Young Society Houston and who also sits on the Dr. Martin Luther King Parade Committee will be playing a significant part in ensuring that the MLK Unity Day Parade will not only go as smoothly as possible, but will be filled with the best vendors, entertainment, and speakers that this upcoming day of remembrance can muster. The MLK Unity Day Parade will start at 10am and is expected to conclude around 2pm. The parade route will start at Pease and San Jacinto and conclude at Fannin and Leeland.

It should also be noted that volunteers will be needed, so if you or someone you know are interested in volunteering for the MLK Unity Grande Day Parade you can do so by sending an email to ysohtx@gmail.com. The check-in time for volunteers will start at 7am. The MLK Unity Day Parade is a parade and celebration that if you live in Houston and surrounding cities, don’t want to miss.
