Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s that time once again. I am Bruce Avery II  “Mr.Oldsoul”. I like to highlight Freelancers, Business owners, Entrepreneurs, Influencers, and Creatives on their journey to success and what advice they have for anyone trying to start a business or work for themselves. Today, we will be highlighting an old Classmate of mine Andre Rawls better known as Dre Rawls 912. He’s an Entrepreneur and Creator of "The House of G.A.S Muisk Group", Mäson Leaux Clothing Co., Mixed By Dre, and "Str8 Dr. PROductions" from Statesboro, Ga. I had the oppertunity to catch up with Dre the other day and we had a great conversation.

BA: Dre my boy what’s good?

DRE: What’s good big dog? You alright?

BA: Hell, you know me. Same stuff, different day. Tell me you’ve got some new stuff coming!

DRE: I’m always cooking big dog. What about you?

BA: Oh yeah, I got quite a few things coming soon! You know I’m going to  keep you posted, but let’s chat right quick brother tell me. Who has been your biggest supporter or mentor in your journey, and how did they impact your success?

DRE: My Beautiful blessing of a wife, Danni has been my BIGGEST supporter/Investor on this whole journey!

BA: YES! Beautiful Black Love! My heart loves to see it. So What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned that you would share with aspiring freelancers or entrepreneurs?

DRE: Nothing happens overnight, everything happens when God wants it to, Failure is a part of the process! If you ain’t failing, you ain’t tryin!

BA: I Heard that! Always keep trying even when you fail. So, when in the process did you experience a turning point in your career, and what led to that breakthrough?

DRE: I would say when I started school for Recording Arts, at MediaTech Institute in Houston Tx, where I’m in my last semester, I’m learning a lot and I've met a bunch of dope individuals, like yourself Bruce blong ly journey! And again, it was my wife that encouraged me to grow my craft when I was having a VERY hard time securing a job to provide for my family.

BA: Brother, you almost made me shed a tear just now! Having someone there that loves you enough to see you at your lowest and still inspires you. So where did you find the best resources or opportunities to grow your business?

DRE: The best sources are on the internet, and anytime it’s something going on that’s relevant to my endeavors, I pop out and network!

BA: Already, you already know that's how I like to do it. I'm a beast at networking. How do you stay motivated and push through challenges as a Black business owner or freelancer?

DRE: My family is my biggest inspiration and motivation.

BA: That is what I love to hear? I constantly say this family is everything, especially when you have no one else to turn to. Your family has your back! So, looking back, what was the most defining moment in your journey, and how did it shape your path?

DRE: Going to school for what I love to do! It taught me a lot more than I could ever imagine!

BA: I bet it did! I saw the growth we all saw in each other. We were like a family there. Man, I miss the school bro. So, has your environment or community influenced your success and what advice would you give to those starting in different areas?

DRE: A healthy home life and support system from my inner circle of people that genuinely care for me and continue to pour into me that just want me to win! As well as being around people that I can learn from, people that have been where I’m trying to go and have experiences that can help me on my journey.

BA: That is deep bro and a great piece of advice that I believe everyone needs to hear! So where can we find your products Bro?

DRE: I have a few songs available on all streaming platforms, right now my Clothing line is still in the beginning stages, we only have a few pieces right now, but we should just right on one for a fall/winter 2025 drop, hit me on my on IG @dre_rawls912 for mixing and mastering or/and other collaborations! Let’s work!

BA :Dre, my boy it was great to see you again and we definitely have more projects to work on together.

DRE: Hell yeah big dog we definitely do and I'm going to need some more visualizers soon.

BA: Already bro I got you!

Life was kicking Andre Rawls in the ass. Despite this, His wife lifted him up, encouraged him to do what he loves, and made sure he was mentally healthy while he attended school. She didn't cause a problem for him and put him down unlike the world around him did. His wife stayed by his side, helped him through his hard times and then kept encouraging him to do and be better. That is exactly why everyone needs, someone who will support them through all trials and tribulations, not just when it benefits them and things are all good. Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m Bruce Avery, II “Mr.Old Soul” and I’m signing off. Until next time, keep your heads up and stay focused.
