Ladies and Gentlemen, it is that time once again where we highlight Freelancers, Business owners, Entrepreneurs, Influencers, and Creatives on their journey to success and what advice they have for anyone trying to start a business or work for themselves. Today, we will be highlighting an old friend of mine, Ashley Cressy also known as Crè Magdalen, a talented Musician, Freelancer, Influencer, and CEO of Crè Magdalene from Baytown, Texas. I had the chance to catch up with Crè the other day and we had a great conversation, here's what we talked about.

BA: Crè what’s up! How have you been?

CRÈ: Hey you! I’m doing good. How have you been?

BA: I’m doing good, can't complain. thanks for meeting with me today!

CRÈ: No problem, it's nice to catch up with an old friend.

BA: I’m sure I haven't seen you in about a year. But you know I follow you on it so I’m still kind of in the loop. So, let's chat about your music and tell me who was your biggest supporter?

CRÈ: Jesus Christ, he gave me superpowers.

BA: Ha, ha won’t he do it! What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned that you would share with aspiring freelancers or entrepreneurs?

CRÈ: When you take the time to truly love everything you do, you become an unstoppable force.

BA: Whoo! Say it again for the people in the back! When did you experience a turning point in your career, and what led to that breakthrough?

CRÈ: It wasn’t a specific moment but it was a specific chapter and that was when I really mastered grace and humility.

BA: Always stay humble so no one nor life can try and humble you and steal your shine. Where did you find the best resources or opportunities to grow your business?

CRÈ: Real life, Instagram, and musician’s institute in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and honestly just by tapping in to my higher consciousness lol!

BA: So how do you stay motivated and push through challenges?

CRÈ: I do it for myself. Not to live up to anyone else’s expectations. My aim is to represent myself as an underrepresented minority first and foremost, and to make myself proud.

BA: That's powerful right there a lot of people don't have that self-motivation! Looking back, what was the most defining moment in your journey, and how did it shape your path?

CRÈ: Realizing I had failed myself. 5 years and no song releases. Meeting opportunity but not being prepared. Taking that “L”.

BA: That must have been a hard hit to your confidence but you’re still trying and that's what matters. Did your environment or community influence your success? If so, what advice would you give to those starting in different areas?

CRÈ: Stay true and persevere. Find the balance between guarding your heart, setting boundaries, protecting your authenticity and being open-minded collaborating with others and seeing your vision of something bigger than yourself.

BA: Crè, that was beautiful. Your words are really going to touch somebody and help them get motivated. It was great meeting my friend and I hope we get some new music from you soon but for now where can we find the music you have released already?

CRÈ: Stay tuned I have a few things in the works as of now, I have music on all streaming platforms, just search Crè Magdalene.

People who take risks are thrill seekers, and thrill seekers encourage others to take risks themselves and seek thrills. What they don't tell you is the actual risk one takes when one takes a chance on something or someone. Crè is a perfect example. She took a risk and took a hard hit from it. And even though it was hard, she did come back from it and got herself back on track. With that being said, taking risks isn't always the best decision for everyone; especially, if you have a lot to lose. However, sometimes believing in God and taking that leap of faith will get you back what you lost tenfold. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Bruce Avery II, “Mr. Old Soul”; keep your heads up and stay focused.
