Yesterday, we had the opportunity to speak with one of the “movers and shakers” in Houston Texas, Allen Thornton. There's so much that we can say about him, but we will start with the basics. He is a U.S. Military Veteran with a passion for philanthropy, and currently serving as a role model for boys and specifically Black American boys. furthermore, he is a strong advocate for aiding Black Americans in not only remembering their history as Fundamental Black America’s; but he does so by hosting events and functions that inform and celebrate the legacy of Fundamental Black Americans in the United States whom of which have a rich history that is steeped in overcoming systematic racism, social despair, and making headway for future generations of Fundamental Black Americans in America.
During our conversation yesterday, Allen Thornton also made it a point to let us know about his upcoming event entitled: “6th 40 Acre Conference Impact Awards” that will not only benefit Fundamental Black Americans here in Houston, but this event will galvanize everyone within the City of Houston for one common cause. And that common cause according to Allen Thornton is to ensure that:
“Every ticket purchased will support an underserved child in obtaining a laptop and positive content, worth free million-dollar from the Juneteenth Hall of Fame which was established with Sheila Jackson Lee. Moreover, the unveiling of the Juneteenth Walk of Fame and Wall of Gratitude honoring Harriett Tubman because of her world-renowned efforts to aid Fundamental Black Americans with the gift of freedom from their slave masters with an original document signature by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
Other people within the City of Houston honored on this prestigious day will be the 19 Hall of Fame Honorees (on Walk of Fame), 19 Change Agents (non-African American), 19 Government officials,19 Corporate Pioneers, and 19 Black Outreach Honorees.”
Allen also stated that: “The Juneteenth Walk of Fame is a physical extension of the Juneteenth Hall of fame that was established in 2022, and it’s held in the same fashion of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Creating this event, highlights the Black Entrepreneurs that have made substantial contributions to the betterment and empowerment of Black Americans”. He also pointed out that: “The Wall of Gratitude was specially built to honor Government officials, corporations, Influencers, and some of the top Entrepreneurs within the Houston Community that supported this effort”.
With that being said, Allen Thornton also wanted to include a special thanks to the Sponsors that aided in this round of historic events taking place, which consisted of:
