Last day of the 2024 Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Classic baseball series. The first game of the day started this morning with Grambling State University and Jackson State University which resulted in Jackson State University winning 7-6 over Grambling State University. Between the two teams battling for victory on the diamond this morning and the fans cheering them on, it was hard to tell who was more charged. With that being said, it’s a great game and if you live in Houston or the surrounding cities and you haven’t made the time to come out to this special MLB event, shame on you for missing out on this special event hosted by the MLB and the two-time World Champion Houston Astros. Â
As always, this morning's matchup started at 10:05am, followed by the second match between Alcorn State University vs. Prairie View A&M University which began at 3:05pm. When it comes to excitement and game intensity expect nothing less than what has been occurring over the last two days here at Minute Park. If you're lucky and have the time, be sure to stop by Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros so you can have your chance to watch the last game of the series in which Southern University go head-to-head against Texas State University at 7:00pm. Â
Tickets were $10.00 per person and as always, all proceeds from the Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Classic will go to local notable charitable organizations, schools, and these funds will also be awarded to college students that are in need of funds so that they can graduate on time. If you love baseball, wish to show support for the Houston Astros, are seeking to be entertained in a safe setting, this was the special series you should have attended.Â
