[HOUSTON DYNAMO HOUSTON FOOD BANK] With all the food insecurity going on around the world, Houstonians are proud to say that one of their championship sports teams is doing something about it right here at home. That team's championship sports team is none other than the Houston Dynamo. Today at the Houston Food Bank the Houston Dynamo and some of the early legends of the Houston Dynamo joined forces in sorting and packing food for Houston residents in need. Food items from local grocers like H.E.B. to multinational retailers such as Amazon and every sized retailer in between contributed to feed Houston families in need.
For the Houston Dynamo, it's more than simply showing up on the pitch and kicking a ball around, for them as team community service is something that they put to the forefront. From sponsoring breakfast for teachers, providing free soccer lessons for the Houston youth, to feeding families, the Houston Dynamos stand as a shining example of what a professional sports team should not only look like in the public eye, but how a professional sports team should be.
Beyond players of the Houston Dynamo attending today's community service event at the Houston food bank, their families and friends also played a vital role in providing wholesome foods for fellow Houstonians in need. That goes a long way when considering 47% of Houston residents are one paycheck away from not only being evicted but most Houstonians must worry about the ever-increasing cost of groceries and how they are going to feed their families. While the community service performed today by the Houston Dynamo may not solve all the socio-economic and hunger problems Houstonians face, the actions by the Houston Dynamo today are at least providing respite for the thousands of Houstonians that are not only in need but are facing hunger in a daily basis.
