Without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the Houston Dynamo’s best matches they’ve played this year. With a stunning performance on the pitch, the Houston Dynamo has given their fans a reason to believe again. Modifying their roaster with signing of additional new players who are not only aggressive on the pitch but are willing to take risk, the Houston Dynamo game this past weekend showed that they have what it takes to make this season not only a season worth watching, but a season that shows promise of the Houston Dynamo going to the finals and possibly winning.

While showing a great deal of team cohesion the Houston Dynamo’s were able to lead in every category except for fouls during this spectacular match. With the Houston Dynamo’s taking 11 shots with 6 shots on target, while Austin in contrast took a total of 8 shots which resulted with only 2 shots being on target says a lot about the willingness of the new members of the team to score on the pitch.  The Houston Dynamo was able to possess the ball  51% of the time, which included a whopping 463 passes at a pass accuracy rate of  88%. Of the 463 passes executed by the Houston Dynamo’s, 408 of them were considered to be accurate. Austin on the other hand was able to possess the ball 49% of the time with 440 passes and acquire a pass accuracy rate of 85% or 378 accurate passes out of 440.\

When it came to fouls, Austin led in this respect, racking up an incredible 20 fouls as they figured they could hack their way into scoring a goal. But their attempt to do so failed and they wound up acquiring 5 yellow cards to the Houston Dynamo’s 3. This is not to say that the Houston Dynamo’s played a “clean” match. They too racked up a serious number of fouls to the tune of 11. Hacking or not, neither team acquired any red cards. The Houston Dynamo was called for being offsides 1 time while Austin got called out for being offside 2 times. On a good note, Austin was able to take 5 corners to the Dynamo's 1.

Looking at the big chances, the Houston Dynamo had 3 big chances and missed 2 of them while Austin had 2 big chances and unfortunately missed both of them. The good news for Austin was they were able to acquire 5 corners to the Houston Dynamo's 1.  Both  teams tied at 1 when it came to shots blocked. The Houston Dynamo led with 4 interceptions and 21 clearances while Austin fell behind with  3 interceptions and 16 clearances.

The next Houston Dynamo game will be played against the LAFC on Saturday May 7th at 9:00pm pacific time at the BMO stadium in Los Angeles California. The current win probability stands with the Houston Dynamo having a 17% chance of winning compared to LAFC’s 62% chance of winning with the 21% chance of there being a draw between the two teams. The only question that’s on the mind of Dynamo fans is: can the Dynamo’s start a winning streak by defeating the LAFC? Guess they will have to find out at the end of the match on May 7th to tell.
