[ICE Trump Protest Houston 50501 Movement] As Americans express their rage against federal law enforcement agency ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), residents of Houston, Texas and surrounding area descended on Houston’s City Hall (901 Bagby St.) to also take part in expressing their frustration and anger about not only how ICE is enforcing federal laws in cities around the country, but in response to the shooting and killing of American citizens by ICE Agents. With the recent shooting that resulted in the death of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis that resulted in national outrage, yesterday’s anti-ICE protest was peaceful as Houston residents waved signs and chanted slogans in front of City Hall.
Yesterday’s protest entitled “END TRUMP’S TERROR – NO ICE ON OUR STREETS. NO WAR AGAINST VENEZUELA. NO FASCIST TERROR”. Protestors also expressed their anger and frustration over the kidnapping and illegal detainment of Venezuelan President Maduro and how they believe American oil companies should they decide to heavily invest in Venezuela will exploit the people and natural resources of the country. Holding the position that the elite of American society and political leaders of yesterday not only operate outside of their best interest but they made it a point to remind those in attendance that the top 1% “owns everything”.
This is not the first time Houston residents descended on City Hall in the past year since President Trump took office during his second term. The 50501 Movement, which has vowed to execute 50 protests in 50 states under 1 movement, has been the face of such protests ever since President Trump took office. The question that’s on the minds of many people in and outside of Houston is: “Is President Trump listening to the demands, wants, and desires of both Houstonians and the American people as a whole?” we’d love to hear your comments and answers below.
