When talking about the Dynamo 2, the number one credit you have to give them is that they play with heart. During last night’s game against MNUFC 2 in a nearly empty stadium, the Dynamo 2 showed tremendous courage on the pitch. It was an aggressive game in which the Dynamo 2 seemed to struggle navigating through during the first half but really made up for it during the second half. For some of the people that were in attendance at last night’s game, it could be said that there were quite a few rookie mistakes that were made between both teams. But mistakes or not, they weren’t deal breakers by any stretch of the imagination. The Dynamo 2 played just as hard if not harder than the primary Dynamo team.

Getting into the stats of last night’s game,  MNUFC 2 had a significant lead over Dynamo 2 when it came to taking shots with 22 shots taken as the Dynamo 2 took 9. MNUFC 2 also had a slight lead over the Dynamo 2 when it came to shots on target with 8 shots compared to the Dynamo2’s 5. Again, the Dynamo 2 fell behind in terms of ball possession  with them possessing the ball 47% of the time to MNUFC 2 possessing the ball 53% of the time during last night’s match. The Dynamo 2 had a total of 423 successful passes but were again overshadowed by MNUFC 2 who had 477 successful passes; that’s a difference of 54 successful passes by MNUFC 2.

The pass accuracy rate of the Houston Dynamo 2 stood at 82% with MNUFC 2slightly ahead in this area with an 85% pass accuracy rate. Both teams climbed the ladder when it came to fouls with the Houston Dynamo 2 obtaining 15 fouls to MNUFC 2’s 13 fouls.  Both teams were equally issued 2 yellow cards. Again, keep in mind that both teams played hard and aggressively last night, which resulted in quite a few pushes and shoves and some very minor injuries on the pitch. No red cards were given. MNUFC 2 received 3 calls for being offsides while the Dynamo 2 received 1 call for being offsides. MNUFC 2 obtained 7 corners to the Houston Dynamo’s 2 4 corners.

If you haven’t already, we strongly urge you to purchase tickets to any of the Houston Dynamos 2 games for the remainder of this season and beyond. Moreover, if you’re a parent or guardian and have children that happens to love futbol (soccer), this would be a great opportunity for them to come out and support the Dynamo 2 because they actually have a 14 year old by the name of Jayden Puna officially signed to the team and is actually really good on the pitch; thus he serves as an inspiration to younger players as he demonstrates what can be achieved if you put the time and dedication into this sport. Quite frankly, all primary and high school age kids that love the sport of futbol as well as their parents and guardians should be flocking to the Dynamo 2 games in a show of support.

Unfortunately, the Dyanmo2 lost to MNUFC 2 1-3. Granted they may not be the mega-stars of the likes of the primary Dynamo team, but to be frank they currently have a better record this year than the primary Dynamo team. That’s just food for thought. The next Dynamo 2 match will be Sunday, April 6 against the Los Angels FC 2 at 6:00pm. The match will be played at the SaberCats Stadium which is located at 2055 Mowery Rd, Houston Texas 77051. Click here to get your tickets.
