*** UPDATE SUSPECTED SHOOTERS NAME IS 29-YEAR-OLD RAHMANULLAH LAKANWAL***

[National Guard shooting Washington D.C.] It has just been announced that the two west Virginia national guard members (1 male 1 female) that have been shot at the entrance of the Farragut West Metro station by a lone gunman at roughly 2:20pm have now died as a result. The death of the national guardsmen was announced by department of national security Kristi Noem on billionaire Elon Musk's social media site “X”. It was also reported that the exchange of gunfire occurred by the Farragut West Metro Station and that suspect who hasn’t been named is currently in custody. It should also be noted that at least three people were injured during the shooters’ rampage. American president Donald trump released the following statement on his social media platform “Truth Social” that the shooter:
“The animal that shot the two National Guardsmen, with both being critically wounded, and now in two separate hospitals, is also severely wounded, but regardless, will pay a very steep price. God bless our Great National Guard, and all of our Military and Law Enforcement. These are truly Great People. I, as President of the United States, and everyone associated with the Office of the Presidency, am with you!”
West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey posted on his social media account after learning about the shooting that:
"It is with great sorrow that we can confirm both members of the West Virginia National Guard who were shot earlier today in Washington, DC have passed away from their injuries. These brave West Virginians lost their lives in the service of their country. We are in ongoing contact with federal officials as the investigation continues. Our entire state grieves with their families, their loved ones, and the Guard community. West Virginia will never forget their service or their sacrifice, and we will demand full accountability for this horrific act."
This shooting has been deemed a critical incident and has invoked what's known as lockdown protocols in the area and has advised all residents and visitors to stay away from glass windows and doors. While various law enforcement agencies are conducting investigations, all flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) were also grounded due to the extent of today's shooting event until 4:00pm. Although President Trump has ordered the deployment of national guard troops through executive action, a federal judge has deemed the executive actions taken on by President Trump to be illegal. The Trump administration has appealed the judge's ruling.
Councilmember Brooke Pinto who presides over the District of Columbia’s 2nd Ward took to his social media account and stated the following:
"Today’s shooting near the White House is devastating and unacceptable. As the Councilmember representing this area and the Chair of the Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety, I am deeply disturbed and saddened that there was a shooting injuring two National Guard troops. These are public servants and they should not be harmed while doing their jobs. We must be more proactive as a country to get firearms off our streets. I am actively working to get to the bottom of what happened."
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
While the deaths of anyone is most unfortunate, it should be stated that there were pockets of speculators and detractors that predicted something like this would occur at some point in time during the controversial deployment of national guard troops around the country. While a motive for the shooting is currently unknown – at this point it almost seems as if it doesn’t matter. The reason why we are taking this position is because of the ratio of firearms in circulation in conjunction with the people living in unstable times, compounded by the fact that likelihood of such an event appears to have been largely ignored.
While many may scoff at our position of the motive of this situation being nearly irrelevant, it can easily be said that this situation could have been avoided. With law enforcement essentially cherry-picking the type of officers that they want in their ranks instead of accepting the reality of the world in which they live in when it comes to the type of officers that would be available, the need for the National Guard would have never been needed in the first place.
The shortage of police officers stems not from people not wanting to work or have anything to do with law enforcement, but from the decades of law enforcement failing to recognize the difference between people of yesterday and the times that they are currently living in when it comes to hiring officers. Keep in mind that police agencies across America combined turn down close to 90% of applicants.
Today the killing of two national guardsmen in broad daylight should serve as a wake up for America.
