[Renee Nicole Good shot ICE] In Minneapolis, a justified shooting resulting in death involving Federal Law Enforcement Agents and a 37-year-old American woman by the name of Renee Nicole Good has sparked outrage around the country. The reason behind the shooting was due to Renee Nicole Good’s failing to stop when instructed to do so by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents. In the process of failing to stop as requested, she was perceived by Agents to be placing the lives of an ICE Agent in jeopardy by utilizing her car as a weapon; at that point the federal Agent extracted his firearm and fatally shot Renee Nicole Good. Renee Nicole Good immediately died on scene and is survived by her two children.

According to ICE Agents, Renee Nicole Good was blocking the road in her car while observing protestors before she failed to comply with ICE Agents. Minneapolis residents are not only calling for ICE to end their operations in the city, but the Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) has called the actions of the ICE Agents as “recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying”. President Trump, Vice-President J.D. Vance, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem defended the actions of the ICE Agent but was simultaneously condemned by Democrats all over the country as well as by former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director John Sandweg (D).

Tricia McLaughlin, who is the Assistant Secretary of Department of Homeland Security stated:

"ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism."

Beyond the national outrage of the shooting of Renee Nicole Good, the incident has spawn additional protest around the country and has been both heavily politicized and weaponized by both Republicans and Democrats in a way that they hope legitimatizes their agendas and perspectives on the state of the political environment in America.
