[2026 Astros Foundation Winter Invitational Alabama Huntsville Ashland University] Going on day two of the 2026 Astros Foundation Winter Invitational featuring the first match-up of the day, Alabama Huntsville vs Ashland University. It can be said for Ashland University that this game was a struggle that seemed to have bruised their ego. With Alabama Huntsville scoring a grand total of 18 runs to Ashland’s University’s 6. Many fans in attendance were left wondering if they were watching a semi-pro team play against their local little league team. Like yesterday, maybe the weather played a huge role or maybe Alabama simply got lucky; either way it was still a game that was worth watching.

Alabama opened the top of the first inning with three runs while Ashland failed to score any. The trend of Ashland not scoring a run would remain consistent until the bottom of the sixth inning. Alabama Huntsville in contrast scored their next run in the second and fifth innings, amounting to a total of eight runs by the seventh inning. Ashland scored two additional runs in both the seventh and eighth innings with a final run being scored at the bottom of the ninth.  Alabama Huntsville rounded out the eighth and ninth innings with scoring another three and seven runs respectively.
