[2026 Bruce Bolt College Classic University of Mississippi Ohio State] With great weather comes great baseball as today marks day two of the 2026 Bruce Bolt College Classic. The first game of the day started with the University of Mississippi facing off against Ohio State. Game play can be described as “moderate” as no major plays were executed other than the usual crowd favorite – the rare homeruns. In the first inning, neither team were able to secure a run and the same result continued into the second inning. It wouldn’t be until the top of the third inning that the University of Mississippi would score the first run of the game.
While Ohio State made some good plays in the bottom of the third inning, they were unsuccessful in securing any runs. It would be the University of Mississippi that would come to dominate and control the entire game by scoring in the fourth, fifth and eighth innings making the score eight to zero. It should be noted that the shutout was confirmed when the University of Mississippi scored a total of five runs at the top of the eighth inning. Ohio State was unable to secure any runs as this could be Ohio State’s worst game in this year's Bruce Bolt College Classic.

The question of the game is “What’s keeping Ohio State in the game?" considering the punishment that they are forcing themselves to endure. Even though the University of Mississippi lost to Baylor University yesterday, it wasn't a bad most as the final score between the two teams stood at six-five. But today, for fans of the University of Mississippi, it was like the team just slipped more into the negative. Again, this game is considered to be a shut out with the final score being University of Mississippi (8) and Ohio State (0).
