[Ukraine Andriy Yermak resigns] Andriy Yermak (54 years of age), who served as the Ukrainian Chief of Staff of what's left of the Zelenskyy Administration has just resigned. The resignation of Andriy Yermak comes just after NABU (Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine) recently executed a raid on his home in Kyiv, Ukraine. It should be noted that Andriy Yermak has not been accused of any wrongdoing. Andriy Yermak took to social media to provide an explanation stating: “There are no obstacles for the investigators. They were given full access to the apartment, my lawyers are on site, interacting with law enforcement officers. From my side there is full co-operation”. The NABU has not released a statement concerning any charges being presented to Andriy Yermak nor has anything been discovered during their raid and investigation.

The reason for the raids at both Andriy Yermak’s office and home was since they have been able to link several people of high importance to a $100m (£75m) embezzlement scandal within the Ukrainian energy sector in the form of bribes and pay off’s. But Andriy Yermak wasn’t alone when it terms of resigning, former business associate and friend of Zelenskyy Timur Mindich, as well as government Ministers Svitlana Renchuk and Oleh Tatarov, Ukrainian Defense Minister Vyacheslav Shapovalov, and several Deputy Ministers and Regional Governors have also fled Ukraine.

It should be noted that Andriy Yermak resigned weeks after mounting pressure from detractors to fire Andriy Yermak over perceived fears of Andriy Yermak acquiring more power than he should have in Zelenskyy’s Administration. With Ukraine being rocked by both geopolitical corruption and uncertainty, combined with Russia dominating Ukraine on the battlefield, many geopolitical analysts are speculating that what the world is witnessing is the top brass of Ukraine engaging in the lining of their pockets with all that they can while they can because they perceive Ukraine to be administratively finished as a county on the international stage.
