[Benjamin Netanyahu pardon] The question of the day is: “Should Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu receive a pardon for the Israeli President Isaac Herzog?”. For many right wing and ultra-right wing supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the answer is yes. From their perspective, both Hamas and Hezbollah have caused them enough trouble and that trouble was significantly increased on October 7th, 2022. On the other hand, there are the detractors of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because for them, the instinctive answer for them is a sharp “No”. With millions of Palestinians displaced and thousands of Palestinians held in Israeli jails and prisons often without due process and tortured, with close to 80,000 Palestinians killed, combined with a man-made famine that’s been created by the hands of the Israeli government in Gaza; his detractors sharp answer of “No” when it comes to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu receiving a pardon from present Isaac Herzog is a no brainer.
Then there are the millions of Israeli citizens that have come to despise both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his entire political cabinet – the Knesset. For years the sentiment of resentment has been growing against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Knesset to the point that Israeli citizens have been taking to the street of Israel in protest of not only his policies, but to the fact that he has continuously failed to bring the hostages home by force as he promised. Instead, he opted for making and breaking several deals that prolonged the war with Hamas which didn’t result in all the Israeli citizens held captive by Hamas coming back in one piece.
Another cause of concern within the international community was that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu committed war crimes as defined under international law in not only the west bank and Gaza, but also in Lebanon. The infamous mass pager attack which led to thousands of Lebanese citizens including children to either be killed, seriously wounded, or permanently maimed or disfigured is another wartime atrocity most of the international community has frowned upon. This is due to the weaponization of civilian telecommunication devices (beepers) for war time purposes, a war crime, has significantly multiplied the amount of people who otherwise wouldn’t have been radicalized but now are in Lebanon.
From the intentional killing and bombing of journalist which most were Palestinian, to the practice of forced censorship to silence journalists, All of this in in conjunction with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s legal issues within the Israeli government which consist of bribery and fraud is seen by geopolitical analysts around the world as the prime motivation to why he has repeatedly torpedoed both prisoner exchange swaps, ceasefire talks, and peace talks since the start of the war. With the allowance of "Israeli Settlers” to go unchecked on the northern border of Israel into the Golan Heights (southern border of Syria) in terms of forced evictions and annexation of Palestinian and Syrian land, it has spread outrage across the international community.
From the bombings in Tehran and Yemen that led to killing of civilians and massive infrastructure damage, it seems as if the question of whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu receives a pardon from the President's Isaac Herzog is the incorrect question to be asked by most people around the world. The most relevant question many throughout the international community are asking is "How fast can Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not only be held criminally liable for his alleged war crimes, but how fast can his execution be started?"
