“FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: November 18, 2025
Carmen Maria Montiel to Run in TX US Congressional District 38
Houston, TX – Carmen Maria Montiel announced today that she will run in the newly drawn Texas Congressional District 38. Following the latest redistricting and the decision by the current representative, Wesley Hunt, to run for U.S. Senate, this district now presents an open seat and Montiel is ready to step forward.
“As someone deeply committed to this community and to the principles that make America exceptional, I believe this is a moment that calls for strong, experienced, and principled leadership,” Montiel said. “District 38 deserves a representative who understands the issues facing everyday Texans, our families, our freedoms, and our future.”
Montiel previously ran in District 18, where she garnered substantial support and built a coalition of voters who shared her conservative values and vision for Texas. Her campaign for District 38 seeks to build on that momentum, bringing a strong voice for faith, family, prosperity, and security to Congress.
“As a Venezuelan immigrant who came to this country looking for freedom and opportunity, I’ve lived what socialism destroys and what American liberty builds,” Montiel continued. “I will fight to secure our borders, protect our families, preserve the ideals that make this country worth defending and advance President Donald Trump's Agenda."
Carmen Maria Montiel is a TV producer, Real Estate entrepreneur, former Miss Venezuela, and mother of three. She has been an outspoken advocate for conservative values, legal immigration reform, religious freedom, and economic opportunity.”
