CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER WANG YI: 14TH NATIONAL PEOPLE’S CONGRESS PRESS CONFERENCE | VIDEO COURTESY OF THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT

[China Wang Yi 14th National People’s Congress Press Conference] Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi took part in a Press Conference to answer questions from members of the Press from the international community at the 14th National People’s Congress. The topic of China's Foreign Policy and how China plans on boosting its diplomatic presence throughout the world was heavily touched on throughout the entirety of the Press Conference. Despite all the chaos and diplomatic turmoil that’s currently occurring around the world, especially in West Asia, Chinese appears to be keen on continuing to maintain itself as a pillar of stability and regional security throughout the international community.

Questions concerning and pertaining to APEC, the Shanghai Economic Cooperation (SEC), the situation that occurred with Palestine and Gaza, the American-Israeli led war against Iran, nuclear weapons and nuclear proliferation were lobbed at Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Wang Yi also reiterated China position on the war in West Asia by stating the following to Press:

“Once again, China calls for an immediate stop to military operations to avoid the spiraling escalation of the situation and prevent the conflict from spilling over and spreading.”

While China's position on the war between America, Israel, and Iran has been heard, it seems that China's position, like many nationals across the world, have fallen on deaf ears. Wang Yi also emphasized the importance of recognizing a country's sovereignty and the need for Iran and all countries to enforce their territorial integrity was overstated. He also stated that “might does not make right” and that the “law of the jungle must not return to rule the world” as “willful use of force does not prove one’s strength”.

The current state of BRICS was also mentioned during the Press Conference as well as China's sole position on America and how it plans to foster positive relations with the Americans. This was a fact-filled Press Conference that you don’t want to miss if you’re a student and/or connoisseur of geopolitics. As always, we urge you to watch this Press Conference in its entirety.
