If there were two words to describe last night's game at Shell Energy Stadium home of the Houston Dynamo as they face off against El Salvador: “absolute excitement”! We have to say, although Houston Dynamo fans represented their team well, they were overshadowed by the sheer amount of El Salvador fans in the stadium tonight. Tonight's games started off extremely “robust” as Jairo Henriquez of El Salvador scored the first point of the night just before the 5-minute mark in the first half. Just as it was starting to feel like a letdown for the fans of the Houston Dynamo, Diego Gonzalez of the Houston Dynamo scored his team's first point just roughly 10 minutes after bringing the score to a 1-1 tie. As several shots were taken by El Salvador (5) to the Houston Dynamo’s (2), neither team managed to score by the end of the first half.

In the second half of this festive exhibition match, Franco Escobar scored another point for the Houston Dynamo’s bringing the total score to 2-1. Unfortunately, due to this game being a “Club Friendly Game”, there are no stats that are available so that we can provide analysis for how each of the teams precisely played yesterday. But outside of the Houston Dynamo defeating El Salvador last night 2-1, it's safe to say that both teams played equally well. While many observers felt as if the Houston Dynamo held on to the ball a little too much and should have taken more shots; fans from each team gave a lot of praise to El Salvador for their ability to not only aggressively drive the ball across the pitch, but their ability to attack, defend, and kick the ball on “instinct.

What is meant by this is that El Salvador showed no hesitation to not only kick the ball, but to kick the ball from longer distances than what the Houston Dynamo typically do. At this time, the next club friendly game has yet to be announced, but for what it's worth, fans from both teams were extremely happy to attend this type of game. It's almost a guarantee that fans are looking forward to another international club friendly match like this in the future.
