CNN, MSNOW, POLITICO, MOVE TO SUE TRUMP OVER WHITE HOUSE BAN

[TRUMP WHITE HOUSE CNN MSNOW POLITICO BAN SUE] Standing in solidarity with Press Agencies Politico, CNN, and MS NOW, other major Press Agencies have decided to boycott white house Press coverage until President Trump reverses his position when it comes to banning these three Press Agencies from the white house. It has also been reported that the three banded Press Agencies are now making moves to file both a first and fifth amendment lawsuit due to President Trump’s actions. The reason why this situation is so significant is because many people including Press Agencies have taken the position that it violates the first amendment of the constitution which guarantees not only free speech, but it also guarantees the rights of America having a free Press.
The reason cited by President Trump for banning the three Press Agencies is because he believes that they engage in biased reporting that skew his actions as President in a negative light. Firing back at the position of President Trump Press Agencies CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC released the following joint statement:
“The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No Administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting.”
The boycott of the Trump Administration over its recent actions are not only occurring amid participating Press Agencies, Press Photographers and Photojournalist from outlet ranging from Agence France-Presse, the associated Press, Getty Images, Reuters, and the New York times are also standing in solidarity with major Press Agencies as they have decided to hold their coverage of the Trump Administration until the next Monday. This isn’t the first time a President 's Administration has been sued over the restriction or banning of a news outlet. In 1981, CNN sued the Regan Administration along with ABC, NBC, and CBS so they could have access to the white house to provide news coverage. CNN released the following statement regarding the recent action of the Trump Administration:
“CNN’s mission to report on the U.S. government will continue regardless of any attempts to restrict physical access to the White House and other government buildings, or any other attempts to impede our journalism. We have a right under the U.S. Constitution to do our reporting without hindrance or interference from the government, and this ban is an illegal assault on this fundamental right.”
Speculators warn that if the lawsuit fails to reverse President Trump decision, then it set the precedent for other instances in which other Press Agencies can not only be banned from the white house and other similar public institutions, but notion of both a free Press that can exercise their right to engage in free speech in America can fundamentally be challenged, restricted, and ultimately silenced in such a manner.
