[Congressman Al Green] Yesterday Congressman Al Green held a Precinct Chair Mixer in an effort to not only make them aware of his bid to run in the upcoming Congressional 18th District election, but he also informed them about how the redistricting of congressional lines will affect them and the Houston communities in which they serve. During the mixer, Precinct Chairs were allowed to ask questions and express their thoughts on various matters and to relay their perspective to Congressman Al Green on why it’s important for them to get those that are reluctant to vote and get out to the polls. Houston and Harris County in general like the rest of the United States are suffering from low voter turnout across all states.
President Trump and his administration was also talked about during this address. While this mixer held by Congressman Al Green brought up sensitive issues, such as race and ethnicity, as well as the death threats that he has received due to his political stance in Congress. The issue of his age was also addressed. While there were no detractors in the mixer, it appeared that all Precinct Chairs in attendance were in support of him despite him falling behind newly elected 18th Congressional District Christian Menefee. Christian Menefee is set to go head-to-head against Congressman Al Green in the 18th congressional district run-off election.
VEDA World News Reporter Moechea Money was on scene to interview several of the Precinct Chairs that attended Congressman Al Green’s Precinct Chair Mixer.
