[Germany's mandatory military conscription] With Chancellor Friedrich Merz beating the war drums towards Russia under the pretext of backing Ukraine to stop the imaginary advancement of Russia towards the borders of western Europe; Chancellor Merz has touted the idea of reinstating mandatory military conscription amongst the German population. With Germany being in a steep recession for the last two years, many German business owners are speaking out against the notion of reinstating a mandatory military conscription on the basis that a mandatory military conscription will present itself as a drain on an already severely weakened economy and labor force.

This is not to say that German business owners are against increasing the number of the German military to any degree, but their plea is one to be taken seriously. For many Germans, having a strong military is one thing, but to have a strong economy is another. For them, the choice between the two is simple – strengthen the economy first. But there’s a greater underlying cause as to not only as to why Germany has been in recession for so long, but why Germany’s manufacturing capabilities have dwindled over the last two years; and the number one underlying cause is Germany inability to access cheap Russian oil and gas, hence cheap energy.

With Germany following in the footsteps of the United Kingdom U.K.; it’s a no-brainer why it could be said that Germany has literally “cut off its own hands and feet” trying to satisfy an anti-Russia trend that has no basis in reality. The result of following this misguided trend has left close to 12,000 German businesses filing for bankruptcy or insolvency during the first half of this year alone.

OUR POSITION HERE AT VEDA WORLD NEWS

Both German Chancellor Merz and the people of Germany have something to think hard about to reach a decision in a short period of time. if they fail to make the correct decision, it could very well spell the collapse of the German economic system. While it is true that war is a racket – and there is no economy like a war economy in the sense that it can help a nation’s economy rebound quickly; Germany simply doesn’t have the means of production to take full advantage of that fact.

Why? because Germany cut itself off from cheap Russian energy. This self-inflicted wound is seen to be akin to self-injurious behavior on the world stage. Germany simply doesn’t have the manpower, nor the military production needed to aid neither Ukraine nor itself. This is especially true given the fact that Russia has never expressed or at the very least signaled that they were making plans to invade western Europe or Germany for that matter.

What the world is seeing right now is how desperate the people who subscribe to the cold war mentality have become and Chancellor Merz is the living embodiment of that. The U.S.S.R. simply doesn’t exist anymore – it’s just the Russian federation and this time antiquated cold war minded people like Chancellor Merz come to realize that. For if they don’t the day may come when they are forced to realize that fact.
