[Housing Dynamo Club de Fútbol Pachuca] yesterday, the Houston Dynamo despite playing a good game, suffered a blistering defeat against the Club de Fútbol Pachuca in a game that resulted in 2-1. The Dynamo’s Aminie Bassi would score the first and only point of the Houston Dynamo’s for the night. While the Houston Dynamo seemed to be obsessed with defense, Club de Fútbol Pachuca appeared to focus on the attack. This was proven by the fact that Pachuca took 12 shots, 4 more shots than the Houston Dynamo’s (8) with 5 shots on target compared to the Dynamo’s 4. Many believe that this four-shot difference played a major part in Pachuca winning yesterday's match.

As always and because the Houston Dynamo appears to have this fixation on defense which results in them being more reactive on the pitch, it resulted in them possessing the ball 54% of the time. In contrast, Pachuca possessed the ball 46% of the time. Pachuca also had a total of 386 passes with a pass accuracy rate of 84%. The Houston Dynamo executed 444 passes with a pass accuracy rate equal to that of Pachuca. What this means is that by default, Pachuca were able to not only do more with less but were able to score more with less time behind the ball.

While it’s true that both teams played aggressive yesterday which resulted in a lot of push, pulls, crashes between players on the pitch, and minor injuries, it would be Pachuca that drew the most fouls, leading in this state (15) to the Houston Dynamo’s 8 fouls on record. Pachuca also led when it came to the issuance of yellow cards, obtaining 2 while the Dynamo’s strayed clear of acquiring any yellow cards. No red cards were given to either team.

The Houston Dynamo was called for being offside 3 times and took 3 corners, while Pachuca had 0 calls for being offsides and took 4 corners. It should be noted that the fans of the Houston Dynamo became increasingly frustrated during last night's match as they too issued what they perceived as the referee, not calling the match fairly. While the Houston Dynamo’s find themselves essentially shut out of the rest of the Leagues Cup, the rest of the MLS season still goes on. With roughly 10 games left for the Dynamo, fans are wondering if the Houston Dynamo’s will close out the rest of the season in good shape or not. As always, time will always tell.

The next Houston Dynamo game will be against Texas rival Austin at the Q2 stadium on august 9th with kick off starting at 7:30pm.
