[HOUSTON BLACK AMERICAN DEMOCRATS H-BAD DNC BLACK CAUCUS SOUTHERN REGIONAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT] With midterms election just around the corner in America, members and supporters of the Houston Black American Democrats (H-BAD) and DNC Black Caucus came together yesterday at the Commissioner Rodney Ellis Administrative Building & Community Center building. This was the first of a two day conference in an effort to not only boost morale within the Democratic Party, but to host a rally call to inform Black American Voters of the importance of casting their votes in this upcoming election cycle. Houston City Council Members Tiffany Thomas (District F), Carolyn Evans-Shabazz (District D), as well as Congressmen Christian Menefee (D), Fort Bend Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy, HR Candidate Odus Evbagharu (D), Precinct 1 Commissioner Rodney Ellis, and other promoted democrats were also in attendance.

While the reception was short, it served as a prelude for following day in which hundreds are expected to gather in unison to ramp up support for the Democratic Party in which some are calling “the ushering of a new day” for Democrats in Washington D.C. to build “Stronger communities” and “Brighter Tomorrow”. This morning, the DNC Black Caucus and the H-BAD will meet again from 8am to 4pm at the Wyndham Hotel located at 8686 Kirby Dr, for the 2026 Southern Regional Leadership Summit for full day that consist of breakfast, a plenary session, voter protection training, along with various other community-oriented breakout sessions. Various speakers from the DNC will deliver speeches and Houston residents will also have the opportunity to meet and greet elected officials and candidates as well as ask them questions.
