[Houston City Councilman Julian Ramirez] Today we had the opportunity to speak with Houston City Council Member Julian Ramirez. It should be noted that although the American society seems to be hyper polarized at this time, upon asking which side of the political aisle Julian Ramirez stands on he made it a point to inform us that the Houston City Council maintains a non-partisan stance when it comes to both the governance of Houston as well as how they engage in their decision-making process when it comes to bettering the lives of all Houstonians.
During the course of this interview, Councilman Julian Ramirez took the time out to emphasize his perspective on how to best manage crime within the framework of the City of Houston. Councilman Julian Ramirez also revealed what inspired him to campaign for his current position. Speaking highly of the Houston Police Department, the Councilman projected a sense of pride and accomplishment that the Houston Police Department was able to recruit, graduate, and put an additional 300 police officers on the streets of Houston to aid in effectively reducing crime. Houston is a 650 plus mile city that does struggle with increasing police response times, but Councilman Julian Ramirez has reassured that there have been processes in place that would help in reducing police response times across the city.
From the providing of crime reduction techniques Houstonians can deploy to keep themselves safe to reassuring Houstonians that the Houston Police Department is working with ICE in a limited capacity in light of several highly controversial shootings that involved ICE agents across the country; it's safe to say that Councilman Julian Ramirez is on top of the job in which he was elected for.
