[Houston Councilwoman Tiffany D. Thomas] If there was one word to describe Houston Councilwoman Tiffany D. Thomas of District F, it would be sharp. The reason why we are able to say this is because she was without exception able to answer all of our questions and the questions that many citizens of Houston have in their minds. During this interview we touched on the socio-political decisions and ramifications of Texas Governor Greg Abbott's (R) plan to redistrict Congressional Lines within Texas and how that plan affects Houstonians from Councilwoman Thomas's perspective.
We also explored the Councilwoman's perspective on homelessness within Houston and how she plans and the city of Houston plans to address that social issue both city and within her district. Also, jobs were another hot button topic. Like all Americans across the country, Houston residents are wondering not only what's happening within the job markets, but what ideas and solutions are city officials looking at to tackle the issue of unemployment, underemployment, and the lack of quality jobs that pay a livable wage that Houstonians can hope to see in the future. We also talked about disaster preparation and what steps the city of Houston is taking to not only address the next natural disaster to strike Houston but what kind of response should Houstonians expect from the city when the next disaster strikes.
