[Houston Dash San Diego Wave] Wednesday's match-up between the Houston Dash and the San Diego Wave is considered by many Dash fans to be a good one. Although the San Diego Wave scored the first goal of the match during the first half at the 20th minute by Forward/Attacker Maria Eduarda Rodrigues Silva (Dudinha), it won't be until the second half at the 69th minute that forward Kate Louis Faasse from the Houston Dash would score and even the match between the two teams. During the first half the Houston Dash took one corner, executed three crosses, won 24 duels, 2 saves, and had 10 clearances.  By the end of the first half both teams tied when it came to fouls, with the Houston Dash being issued one yellow card and the San Diego Wave being issued two yellow cards.

After the Houston Dash scored their first goal, Co-Captain Jane Campbell found herself at the dirty end of the stick by receiving an accidental harsh blow to the face, leaving her bloody and being taken out of the match. With ten minutes left in the match, Houston Dash fans were on the edge of their seats hoping that the Dash could at least maintain the tied score long enough for this match to be rendered a draw and not a loss. It should go without saying that the Houston Dash desperately needs a win, as they lost the previous two games in what some would call a “shameful manner”.

But just as Dash fans were on the edge of their seats hoping for a win, Dash Striker Kat Rader was able to secure another goal for the Dash bringing the score 2-1. What looked and felt like a win for the night for the Dash, that milestone was unfortunately turned around as the San Diego Wave was able to secure another goal. From the perspective of fans, this was entirely possible because Jane Campbell was taken out of the match due to being injured and Houston Dash substitute Goalie Caroline Delisle being put in. Although she did a fine job on the pitch and blocked the initial ball kick, she was just physically unable to stop the rapid line of succession when it came to the exceptionally prompt second kick from Forward San Diego and Striker Trinity Byars at the 95 minute of the match.

The final stats of the match between the two teams resulted in the Houston Dash scoring two goals with two assists. The Houston Dash possessed the ball 41% of the time and took a total of three shots with two shots on goal.  They had one shot inside the box and 2 shots outside of the box. They blocked 1 shot, had a total of 381 passes, 88 missed passes, three key passes, 293 passes completed, with a pass accuracy rate of 77%. Out of 21 total tackles, 9 of those tackles were successful. The Dash also had nine throw in’s, took two corners, and won 42 duels.
