Even though many of the fans of the Houston Dynamo were adversely affected by this week’s major storm that rocked the City of Houston - fans of the Houston Dynamo still mustered the strength to show up and show out for Saturday night’s game against Dallas FC. Even though the game resulted in a draw (1-1). It’s understandable for many Dynamo fans why this match-up ended the way it did. The reason for this is because the Houston Dynamos played not one, not two, but three matches in a single week. Player fatigue is real, and it should not be taken lightly.
To be fair we at VEDA Magazine urge you to consider the following: travel time, practice time, a major storm that rocked the City of Houston last week, in which the players' families may still be recovering from, and again having to play three games in a week is enough to tire anyone out. But the good news is, the Houston Dynamos still pushed though as a team – commendable. The Houston Dynamos took a total of 18 shots to Dallas’s 7 with 8 shots on target to Dallas’s 3. Even though highly stressed and fatigued the Houston Dynamos, maintained possession of the ball 62% of the game compared to Dallas’s 38%.
When it came to pass accuracy, the Houston Dynamo still led with a rate of 86% to Dallas’s 82%. If you were looking for an aggressive game this game was for you, the Houston Dynamos acquired a total of 14 fouls with 2 yellow cards compared to Dallas’s 10 fouls and 1 yellow card. The Houston Dynamos caught 3 calls for playing off-sides in contrast to Dallas’s 2. And again, the Houston Dynamos led in corner kicks 6 to 1.
Say what you like, but it seems like the Houston Dynamos played a damn good game considering the fact that they were suffering from player fatigue during this game. Make no mistake about it, the Houston Dynamos did not fold under pressure and are sure to make a clear and obvious win against the LA Galaxy for the next match-up. This game will be held at the Shell Energy Stadium on May 25th at 9:30pm. If you’re in the City of Houston or reside in the greater Houston area, make it your business to be at this game as you don’t want to miss it. As always, go Dynamos.
