[Houston Dynamo Colorado Rapids FC ] In a nearly fully packed crowd of Houston Dynamo fans at the Shell Energy Stadium tonight as the Houston Dynamo face off against the Colorado Rapids FC, tonight's match has proven to be a real treat in the first half. With both teams duking it out on the pitch, the stats at the 27th minute of play confirm the fierce competitive drive between both teams on the pitch as both teams are already beginning to rack up fouls. At the 29th minute the Houston Dynamo have already racked up five fouls while the Colorado Rapids picked up two fouls thus far. By the end of the first half, the Houston Dynamo took a total of three shots with two of those shots on target. They possessed the ball 45 % of the time with 193 passes with a pass accuracy rate of 88%.
The Colorado Rapids in contrast, failed to take any shots and thus had no shots on target. They did have possession of the ball 55% of the time even though they essentially did nothing with the ball. Colorado Rapids also had a total of 253 passes with a pass accuracy of 91% by the end of the first half. Playing in front of a highly energetic crowd tonight we had the opportunity to speak with several fans, and they expressed that they felt as if the Dynamo could very well win tonight's match. Because it's still too early to tell who will win tonight's match the jury is still out on that. It should be noted that there were an additional seven minutes added to the first half.
The second of the match appeared to be even more energized as the Houston Dynamo continued to not only control the momentum of the match but also managed to increase the number of attacks on the pitch which in turn increased the number of times they got close to scoring. With Dynamo fans on the edge of their seats and screaming at the top of their lungs in support of the Houston Dynamo, this combined with some of the spectacular plays the Dynamo displayed on the pitch, the feeling of the Houston Dynamo scoring the first point of the match. At the time of this writing, the Houston Dynamo scored the first point of the match at the 72-minute mark of the match by Winger Lawrence Ennali The only question is, can the Houston Dynamo do it again?
The final stats of the match resulted in the Houston Dynamo having taken eight shots, with five shots on target. The Houston Dynamo had ball possession 38% of the time.
