[Houston Dynamo Vancouver Whitecaps] With both teams desperate to win tonight's match, combined with both the Houston Dynamo and the Vancouver Whitecaps adopted a more aggressive playing style on the pitch it was just a matter of time before a major injury occurred. It would be at the 22nd minute of the match where Houston Dynamo defender Diadie Samassékou fell victim to a major injury that led to him being placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance on the pitch. It’s highly suspected by Dynamo fans that he may be out of commission for a while on his road to recovery. It's currently unknown what kind of injury Diadie Samassékou suffered tonight, but what's known is 13-15 minutes of game play were added to the first half of the match.

 

By the 58th minute of the match the probability of the Houston Dynamo winning stood at 26%, while the Vancouver Whitecaps stood at 49% with a 25% draw for the match. By the end of the first half, the Houston Dynamo stood stat wise with one shot taken with zero shots on target. They possessed the ball 47% of the time with 81 executed passes with a pass accuracy of 92%. The Vancouver Whitecaps took two shots with zero shots on target but possessed the ball 53% of the time. They had 116 passes with a pass accuracy rate of 93% just one percentage point over the Houston Dynamo. Both teams tied when it came to fouls having three a piece. The Houston Dynamo took one corner. While both teams struggled hard against each other in the second half, it would be the Houston Dynamo that would ultimately come out on top. The Houston Dynamo’s scored the first and only point of tonight's match, thanks to Striker Guilherme Augusto Vieira dos Santos assisted by Defender José Artur de Lima Jr. at the 90+5 minute that made tonight's win by the Houston Dynamo possible. Looking at the stats for the Houston Dynamo, they ended the match by taking 12 shots with six (50%) of their shots on target. They possessed the ball 51% just over half of the time of the match. That executed a total of 460 passes with a pass accuracy rate of 92%.

 

The Vancouver Whitecaps ended the match with a total of nine shots with three of those shots being on target. When it came to ball possession, they possessed the ball 49% of the time.
