[Houston Dynamo vs. Vancouver Whitecaps 0-3] Last night's match up between the Houston Dynamo and Vancouver Whitecaps FC demonstrated that there needs to be something done when it comes to the Houston Dynamo and their lack of attack on the pitch. Many fans expressed frustration as they would watch the Houston Dynamo have the ball in their possession and instead of going forward with an attack on the pitch, they spent more time kicking the ball backwards towards their opponent’s court. One fan screamed “enough is enough!” in frustration of the Houston Dynamo's inability to drive the ball forward during last night's game. The final score resulted in the Houston Dynamo losing 0-3.

Backing the legitimacy of the Dynamo fans was the fact that the Houston Dynamo had possession of the ball 56% of the time, in which they managed to pass the ball successfully 494 times with an 87% pass accuracy rate. It sounds impressive, but that’s not what wins games in the world of soccer (futbal) – shots on target via volume do as which leads to scoring in which the Houston Dynamo fell behind the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-7.

In contrast the Vancouver Whitecaps possessed the ball 44% of the time, with 14 shots taken landing 7 shots on goal (50%). They also had 1 black shot. Vancouver Whitecaps had a total number of 343 passes with a pass accuracy rate of 80.2%  which put them slightly behind the Houston Dynamo in this regard. The Houston Dynamo played a good defensive game in which they had 3 blocked shots. The Houston Dynamo also had 6 corners, 7 total crosses, and 1 clearance. In comparison, the Vancouver Whitecaps have 1 corner, 4 total crosses, and 12 clearances. While the Houston Dynamo had no calls for being offsides, the Vancouver Whitecaps obtained 1 call for being offsides.

Both teams played aggressively on the pitch, and both teams racked a significant number of fouls in terms of discipline as the Houston Dynamo had a whopping 19 fouls, and the Vancouver Whitecaps had a total of 10 fouls. Both teams were issued yellow cards with the Dynamo racking up 5 yellow cards and the Vancouver Whitecaps having 4. Neither team obtained any red cards for the duration of the match. While the first half of the match was played well by the Vancouver Whitecaps, the Houston Dynamo fell behind in terms of drive and the ability to push past the defense of the Vancouver Whitecaps. In the second half, the Houston Dynamo seemed to be more driven and determined to score. The question many Dynamo fans are asking is why is the “Houston Dynamo continuing to wait until the second half to put their best foot forward?”.

We at VEDA World News are asking: “why not just put your best foot forward in the beginning so that you have a better chance of not having to play a game of catch up?”. We say put winning to the forefront and leave all the technicalities behind. But it appears that it's not up to us, and nor the fans for that matter. But Houston is both waiting and watching to see what the Houston Dynamo do this coming Saturday, July 19th at 7:30pm as they face off against the Philadelphia Union as the odds of the Houston Dynamo winning this next match-up stands at the Houston Dynamo having a predicted 40% chance of winning this next match with the Philadelphia Union standing at a 33% chance of winning tis next match and 27% chance of a draw between the two teams.
