[Houston Dynamos Atlanta United] Tonight's matchup between the Houston Dynamos and Atlanta United resulted in the Houston Dynamos winning the match 4-3 after penalty shots from both teams took place. Prior to that, the original ending score was tied between the two teams 1-1. Say what you want about last year's Dynamos line-up, but this year's lineup looks exceptionally promising as Head Coach Ben Olsen took to the field sporting a new “scruffy” new beard to speak with members of the Houston Press about their win tonight. Although this is technically a win for the Houston Dynamos, this match is considered a “Pre-Season Game” or tournament styled game which would help transition players from participating teams from the off-season to 2026’s playing season.
The Atlanta United played a great game tonight, but it proved to be no match for the Houston Dynamos and all the new editions to their 2026 roster. The first point of the night would be scored by South American native Lucas Halter of the Houston Dynamos at the 50th minute of the game followed by Latte Lath of the Atlanta United at the 37th minute of the second half. The Dynamos win tonight flies in the face of the forecasted 51%-win Atlanta United which failed to materialize tonight. If you look at the current head-to-head record when you compare both teams against each other, Atlanta United has a slight win ratio over the course of the last five times they played against the Houston Dynamos with Atlanta United obtaining two wins to the Dynamos one win, and a draw between both teams.

Keep in mind that tonight's match was a Club Friendlies match and thus, not all stats will be available.
