Don't get it wrong, all of the collegiate games that were played here at Daikin Park, home of the world-famous Houston Astros were great during the Houston Winter Invitational baseball series. But by far this particular game took the cake. The reason why we’re able to say this is because this game has been a tight game since the very first inning. Jefferson university scored 1 run then another 2 runs in the top of the 2nd and 3rd innings. While Mississippi College scored 4 runs all within the bottom of the 1st inning. After that, both teams scored runs back-to-back in a highly competitive exchange of skill on the diamond.
Like several of the past games that have played this since the start of the Houston Winter Invitational, this game between the two teams has proven to be just as tight in terms of who's going to win as the other games were. Oftentimes, colleges and universities that fall in the category of division 3 schools, don't get either the coverage or the credit that they deserve, and in saying this it's safe to say that baseball lovers are being robbed of the opportunity to watch great teams play on the field.
But whether baseball fans are being robbed or not, that's a matter for another time. Right now not only should you be taking the time out to watch this game as well as all the other games that have/are about to be played at the Houston Winter Invitational, but if you haven't already, you should consider taking the time out to watch all of these great college teams duke it out on the diamond to see who will win playing one of America's greatest pastimes - and that's American Baseball.
