INTERVIEW WITH HOUSTON MUSIC ARTIST KAYO-G | VIDEO BY MICHAEL THERVIL | VEDA WORLD NEWS

[Kayo-G] When it comes to Houston Music Artist there is one that really stands out from the likes of Bun B and Slim Thug and that’s Kayo-G. Raised in the Acres Home community also known as the “4-4” on the northside of Houston, Texas,  Keyo-G has not only protected his talent as a Hip-Hop Music Artist but also as a Singer and Songwriter. Beyond talking about his background and upbringing, Kayo-G talked about how music played a role in getting him to the high degree of success that he has today. While his musical roots may have started in the church, it never stopped his love for Rap/Hip-Hop. When asked about what it's like for him to step into a booth to record his vocals, or stand in front of a crowd to perform, or the feeling he gets when people listen to his music, he simply stated that “I like to see the expressions on people's faces”.

He followed up by stating to us: "that's the main thing I want to do. Like when I'm performing, I get to see the reaction because I know everything is mental and everything is physical”. While this may sound like something coming out of the realm of Metaphysics to some, his statement is true because everything is connected. Kay-o also revealed that he has been making music since he was 14 years old and has been featured on roughly 10 to 14 albums but this year, he stated that he was looking to release three albums of his own.

Being a “no Rap Music until 11am” kind of guy because of his upbringing, he stated that he remembered when older people took the position that Rap Music was just a fad and would last. But Kayo-G simply didn’t buy that. For him the finding of Rap/Hip-Hop Music was a form of therapy as it allowed him to write down his inner thoughts on things that he saw and experienced on a day-to-day basis in growing up in Houston. He likened being a Rap/Hip-Hop artist to being that of a Journalist and we found that to be a true statement as while journalists serve as the eyes and ears of the public Rap/Hip-Hop artist like Kayo-G do the same, the only difference is his words rhyme in the form of bars, hooks, and choruses.

We also like the fact that Kayo-G also aspires to enter the political area as well. This was something that was talked about more in depth during the course of this interview as well. You can find Kayo-G on Instagram: @Kayo_g7. Make sure you follow him to get his latest music.
