[Iowa Colony MLK Day 2026] Today in Iowa Colony Texas, they held their annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade in celebration of the legacy and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. For many people not only in Iowa Colony Texas, but around the world, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. represents a constant reminder of what it means to not only stand for something, but to take a stand of social justice in a country where racism unfortunately is deeply embedded. In remembrance and honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the resident of Iowa Colony, Texas marched through the streets to remember the astronomical sacrifices that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made for the benefit for not only Black Americans, but for Black people and people of color all around the world.

Today's parade was made possible by the vision and direction of Councilwoman Arnetta Murry of Iowa Colony. Today's parade featured not only a diverse population of supporters and attendees, but it included the likes of Congressmen Al Green, Iowa Colony Mayor Wil Kennedy, Representative Ron Reynolds, Representative Jeff Barry, and many other prominent political figures. After the parade, there were words of motivation and inspiration that were not only geared to aid people in remembering the sacrifices of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but to challenge everyone in attendance to do their part in ensure that social justice get evenly distributed across the board and each one should reach one and leave a positive mark on the greater community.
