IRAN’S PUSH FOR THE SCO TO COUNTER AMERICAN DOMINANCE | IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ABBAS ARAGHCHI | PHOTOGRAPHER UNKNOWN

[Iran Shanghai Cooperation Organization] Iran’s push for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to become one of the newest solutions to not only counteract but shield member countries from the grip of both NATO and American led sanctions have become clear. The reason for this is simple, the recognition of the multi-polarity state of the world.

While NATO stands centered on a unipolar way of existence whereas America dictates the terms and conditions of all nations that subscribe to NATO, the SCO stands as the opposite. Earlier this month during the SCO summit, which was held in China, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Iran solidarity with the SCO as well as touted various solutions that nations that have found themselves locked out of NATO membership could utilize within the SCO to give them a leg up against America and the Collective West.

In doing so, Foreign Minster Abbas Araghchi addressed the weaponization of sanctions, Israel war of genocide against the people of Palestine, and the American-Israeli joint attacks of Iranian nuclear facilities. Backing his argument, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi turned to Article 2, Section 4 of the United Nations Charter while invoking Resolution 487 of the United Nations security council. In doing so, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi laid the groundwork for the successful argument that the actions of both America and Israel have no legal standing within the international community. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also urges members of the SCO to collectively form a working process for dealing with issues of aggression and blatant attack that come from America and the Collective West; such processes include:

• Collectively and directly dealing with acts of sabotage, terrorism, and aggression for the Collective West.

• Forming and collectively funding the defense of member countries as well as standardizing intelligence coordination

• Collectively enhancing joint media cooperation between member nations for narrative control and combating misinformation and disinformation within the international community

• Collectively forming a counter to American led sanctions while shielding member SCO member countries from socio-economic hardships that stems from the abuse of weaponized sanctions

• Collectively construct a way to document and counter acts by the Collective West that seek to undermine member SCO member countries

As a collective, SCO member states comprise roughly 40% of the world’s population and is collectively estimated to be worth $24.4 trillion (conservatively). Iran also appears to firmly believe that as a collective like BRICS, the SCO has the ability to establish immunity from western led sanctions.

While America and the collective west is based on a power-based order, Iran, the SCO, and the BRICS blocs are seeking to firmly establish the international recognition of the sovereignty of all countries without limitations.
