[Israel Hezbollah bombs Beirut Lebanon] Today, Israel executed a missile strike in Beirut, Lebanon targeting Hezbollah with their chief of staff Ali Tabtabai bringing the prime target. The National News Agency, Lebanon's official news agency stated that at least three missiles struck the third and fourth floors of an apartment complex in the Haret Hreik neighborhood of Dahiyeh, which is in the Baabda District in the southern suburb of Lebanon. This latest Israeli strike also resulted in the killing of 13 people and the severe wounding of 28 others. This would be the third time Israel has targeted Haytham Ali Tabtabai for an assassination to date. Today’s Israeli missile strike comes as next week would mark a year that a ceasefire agreement was agreed upon by the two nations and this newest Israeli strike accounts for over 400 Israeli executed missile strikes in Lebanon since the start of the ceasefire agreement.
While Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is pleading for the international community to appeal to Israel to stop the execution of missile strikes in Lebanon as today Israeli missile strikes comes on the heels of another Israeli led airstrike that resulted in the killing of 13 people in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon this week combined with a car bombing that was executed via drone strike near the Ein el-Hilweh mosque.
Hezbollah official Mahud Qomati stated to the Press that today's Israeli missile strike has “crossed a new red line”.
Although Israel has told the Press that Haytham Ali Tabatabai has been killed, it has not been confirmed by Hezbollah. Currently Haytham Ali Tabtabai has a $5 million bounty placed on him issued by the Americans. The question that is being asked is if Haytham Ali Tabtabai is killed by this Israeli missile attack, does Israel get to collect the $5 million bounty that was offered? And if so, could it be said that Israel is killing for profit? Or could the Americans be playing a role in incentivizing the killing of people without due process? With 100’s of Lebanese people being killed by Israel since the start of last year's agreed ceasefire, the world is left wondering if the killing and annexation of land in Lebanon will ever come to an end.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
It's already understood that the President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun is in a very difficult position politically that appears to become even more complex day by day. In one corner land in Lebanon is being forcefully acquired by the Israelis while destroying the lives and property of Lebanese citizens at the same time. Then there is the issue of whether Hezbollah will disarm. But from the perspective of Hezbollah, they will only disarm if the Lebanese government can put itself in the position to not only diplomatically deal with Israel, but if they can militarily deal with Israel.
Secondly, there is the looking issue of whether the Americans will intercede if the government of Lebanon takes any kind of militaristic action towards Israel to exercise its sovereignty over its land, people and resources. From our perspective, president Joseph Aoun is too weak and has failed the people of Lebanon. We take the position that organizations like Hezbollah is needed to protect the people of Lebanon since its government can’t. for the people of Lebanon, Hezbollah is the one organization that stands in the way of not only Israel and Zionism, but off law and order in Lebanon.
