[Israel Knesset vote] Today the Israeli Knesset passed a vote that would allow the Israeli government to claim sovereignty over the Palestinians West Bank and the Jordan Valley. The vote was passed by 30-6. Immediately after the passing of the vote both the sultanate of  Oman and Saudi Arabia expressed not only their concerns over the passing of the vote by the Knesset, but both countries outright condemned the passing of the vote. While the Israeli government celebrated the passing of the vote, Oman and Saudi Arabia perceived the passing of the vote as nothing more than a provocation that undermines international peace efforts and “flagrant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions”.

With the Israeli Knesset passing the vote to claim sovereignty over both the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, it also will allow Israel to arrest and detain Palestinians that refuse to vacate their land. It also allows for the Israeli government to lengthen the time it would take for a Palestinian to obtain an attorney by 30 days and can ban a plantain the ability to obtain an attorney for 45 days and can extend the time at any time via court decision. The passing of the law will also allow the Israeli government to continue its practice of detaining Palestinians held for 45 days without indictment and to be taken to a judge via zoom. The vote also included the Israeli government to extend a detained Palestinians an additional 30 days at any stage in the detention process.

Although Oman and Saudi Arabia are supporters of a two-state solution and the Palestinians right to engage in self-determination, it appears that neither country are willing to lend militarily support the Palestinians as they are facing both genocide and national famine due to Israel’s military transgressions. Backing Oman and Saudi Arabia is the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) who also condemned the passing of the Knesset vote and viewed the passing of the vote as illegal and a violation of Palestinian sovereignty.

With the passing of the Knesset vote, another vote was passed 71-13 that resulted in allowing the Israeli government to approve a $274.6 million budget to start the construction of infrastructure that would be used as living and working quarters for Israeli citizens in the West Bank. Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich stated:

“This is how true sovereignty is established, through facts on the ground, through settlement investment, and through bringing one million new settlers. This is how the fantasy of a terrorist Palestinian state is dismantled.”

OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS

The old saying is the world belongs to those who can take it and hold on to it by any means and this is exactly what Israel is doing which is unfortunate for the Palestinians people. While the world and especially the Arab/Muslim world watches, the international community as a whole has not only failed to put a plan together to stop the genocide of Palestinians and the theft of the land by the Israeli’s, but the international community for the exception of Ansarullah appears to be cowardly to take any decisive  military measures against Israel.

Although the OIC, Oman, and Saudi Arabia denounced and condemned Israel's actions, neither country has shown the ability to either physically or militarily intervene against the actions of Israel on the behalf of the Palestinian people. We predict that Ansarullah will not only step up their missile strikes toward Israel, but they will utilize more advanced weapons towards Israel to demonstrate their ability to protest the actions of Israel on an international basis. Time will tell as it always does.
