[Israel Iran ceasefire] While on paper there is a ceasefire agreement in place between Israel and Iran, in the real world, the opposite is true as Israel continued to violate the ceasefire agreement by executing a series of aerial attacks overnight on  both the Yemenis Ansarullah (Houthis) and Iranian oil and gas refineries and on various Iranian radar sites throughout Iran. Israel cited reason for executing the aerial attacks is because obtained intelligence that there was a new barrage of missile launched by Iran. Israel conducted aerial strikes on the Iranian cities of Tabriz, Tehran, and Isfahan. In response, Ansarullah pledged that they would continue to fire on Israel and enforce a ban of Israeli ships operating in the Red Sea.

This new round of escalation between both countries yielded a response from either Iran directly or from Hezbollah to execute missile, drone, and rocket attacks towards northern Israel. This comes after Israeli military operations within Beirut that left several people killed and injured and destroyed various types of civilian infrastructure. American President Trump requested that Israel execute more “surgical strikes” rather than engage in carpet bombing operations. Israeli and the Americans have openly stated that Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas have continued to violate the ceasefire, whoever, Iran and its proxy aligned groups have rebutted that both the Americans and Israel have perpetually violated one of the key terms of the ceasefire agreement and that was to cease all operation military actions towards, Palestine, Gaza, and Lebanon.

Israel stated that it had no option left on the table but to confront Hezbollah and prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. From the perspective of geopolitical and war analyst, all of the military actions of Israel on the behest of America have deterred Iran from opening the Strait of Hormuz and to cease it military operations within the region. Despite this, American President Donald Trump stated that the ongoing fighting between both Iran and Israel will not stop the ceasefire agreement from being followed. It should be noted that President Trump has urged Israel to stop its attacks towards Iran.

Due to the joint American-Israeli war of aggression and choice toward Iran, global energy, oil, and gas markets continue to struggle to bring relief to consumers because of rapidly increased oil and gas prices. It should be understood that the cost of Brent crude is over $97 per barrel.
