[Leagues Cup Houston Dynamo Tigres UANL 1-4] Electrifying is the word of the match when it comes to how both teams faced off on the pitch at shell energy stadium. Even though the Houston Dynamo fell behind, they took an even bigger hit when it came to confidence as Angel Correa scored the first point of the match for the Tigres UANL towards the end of the first half. This is not to say that the Houston Dynamo didn’t play well during the first half, it's just that the Dynamo’s simply failed to not only drive the ball towards the goal, but they failed to demonstrate the high level of drive on the pitch that is needed to play against a team like Tigres UANL.
With the Dynamo taking 4 shots, possessing the ball 37% of the time during the first half, passing the ball 174 times with a 85% pass accuracy rate they were simply over taken by the dominance of Tigres UANL on the pitch as they took 7 shots, with3 shots on target, possessing the ball 63% with a whopping 304 passes with pass accuracy rate of 88%, it says a lot what happened during the first half of the match.
But the Houston Dynamo were able to come back from that within the first three minutes of the second half. This was due to Tigres UANL losing possession of the ball and Ondrej Lingr scoring for the Houston Dynamo and tying the match. Scoring this point greatly boosted the morale of the Houston Dynamo’s. This dopamine from the Dynamo’s scoring their first goal of the match seemed to be short lived as Diego Laninez scored again for Tigres UANL at the 63-minute mark. But that wouldn't be the last time that Tigres UANL as Angel Correa would score again in the 70th minute of the match.

The final nail in the coffin for the Houston Dynamo came from Ozziel Herrera from the Angel Correa which brought Tigres UANL to the grand total of 4 goals against the Houston Dyanomo’s 1. By the end of the match when it came to possession Tigres UANL stood at 53.8%, with 15 shots taken, 8 shots on goal, 3 blocked shots, 534 total passes with a pass accuracy rate of 89.3%, 3 corners, 4 total crosses, and were called for being offsides 1 time. They also had 3 goalkeeper saves, 2 clearances, racked up 11 fouls and 1 yellow card.
The Houston Dynamo in contrast had possession of the ball 46.2% of the time, 9 shots with 4 shots on goal. They also had 3 blocked shots, 498 total passes with a pass accuracy rate of 88.5%. The Houston Dynamo also had 5 corners, 10 total crosses as they were called for being offside 1 time. The Dynamo also had 4 goalkeeper saves, 3 clearances, a whopping 15 fouls and 2 yellow cards. Neither team received a red card. This was a very aggressive match played between both teams, and it is one that is sure to go into the history book in terms of the head-to-head record between both teams.
