[Meochea Money Arnetta Murray Mike Miles HISD] In this segment featuring VEDA Correspondent Meochea “ME-Me” Money, we both had the opportunity to speak with Councilwoman Arnetta Murray position 4 of Iowa Colony here in Texas. Although we didn’t touch on political events within Houston and Harris County; we did, however, touch on politics and issues surrounding and within the Houston Independent School District (HISD). We also talked about HISD Superintendent Mike Miles and how both students and teachers are being adversely impacted by what many teachers and parents alike are calling “failed leadership policies".
What was revealed in this segment was the fact that Superintendent Mike Miles does not hold any teacher certifications himself and has been essentially “booted” out of the business of managing the public school system in Dallas, Texas. In this segment we also touched on how some teachers feel as if they are being discriminated against because of their age and how Superintendent Mike Miles has been aggressively targeting older teachers in favor of younger teachers because he can pay them less.
