NICARAGUAN PRESIDENT DANIEL ORTEGA WITHDRAWS COUNTRY FROM ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES

[NICARAGUA ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES PRESIDENT DANIEL ORTEGA] It was recently reported that the South American country of Nicaragua has threatened to withdraw from the Parliament of Central America which consists of 34 countries. The announcement was declared on Saturday. All of this comes after the resolution that was presented and demanded that Nicaragua release political prisoners and restore their Civil Rights at the Organization of American States (OAS) this past Friday. Nicaraguan authorities are calling the demands presented at the OAS as an effort to undermine Nicaragua's ability to fully exercise its national sovereignty”.
Beyond that the president of Nicaragua also followed up with the claim that international groups like the OAS do nothing more than serve as proxies for the intervention of outside forces. In response some organizations both nationally and internationally have pushed the claim that Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega has engaged in the retaliatory targeting of dissidents and critics against his administration and polices in the form serving prison time, torture, and/or exile. This would be the third major organization that Nicaragua has vacated from in the last five years as it has pulled out of the OAS in 2023 followed by the country’s exit from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR) last year in 2025.
Both Trump and other national leaders within the international community have referred to the Nicaraguan government as an administration of “Dictators”.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
The question that we are asking is why bring up anything on Nicaraguan government now given the fact that countries such as the United States actually engage in the same abuses that they are accusing the Nicaraguan government of. In America, its own citizens can be locked up without habeas corpus under the national defense authorization act without demonstrated probable cause or reasonable suspicion under the guise of National Security. In fact, there have been documented cases in which the American government has engaged in the weaponization of both the Law and Law Enforcement in retaliation against their own with one recent case involving Scott Ritter.
Like most things when it comes to politics, there more than meets the eye and this current situation with Nicaragua is no different. We forecast that Nicaragua will face some kind of retaliation from the countries that make up the Parliament of Central America and in turn, Nicaragua will turn to either the BRICS, other countries that would be willing to collaborate within the Global South or China specifically.
