[R. Kelly Trump clemency] 59-year-old Chicago native and world-famous "King of R&B" singer who has won numerous Grammy Awards, R. Kelly whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, and his Attorney has formally requested clemency from President Donald Trump. This would be R. Kelly's first clemency request from the president. R. Kelly is currently serving federal prison time which started in 2022 for being convicted of racketeering, sex trafficking, the sexual exploitation of children, forced labor, and various violations related to the Mann Act. It should be noted that no evidence has been produced to be used in a court of law against R. Kelly as there have only been multiple acquittals from alleged victims. Currently R. Kelly has only served one year of his 30-year sentence.
it was reported that the biggest reason why R. Kelly and his Attorney, Attorney Beau Brindley has now filed for formal clemency due to their allegedly being fatal attempts to kill him since he's been in federal custody. According to R. Kelly and his Attorney, a White Extremist from the notorious Aryan Brotherhood who was and still is in federal custody was allegedly hired from within the federal prison system to kill R. Kelly. This along with several other instances have prompted R. Kelly's Attorney to take the position that being in federal custody poses a significant threat to the life and well-being of R. Kelly. Backing the position of his Attorney, it was reported that. R. Kelly received a call from the prison officials “avoid the mess hall”. This warning came as there appeared to be creditable threats to poison R. Kelly’s food.
Will President Trump grant R. Kelly clemency? A lot of his fans are hoping so, despite the disposition of his detractors. R. Kelly is currently being held in custody at the Butner Federal Prison which is located in Butner, North Carolina.
