PRESIDENT TRUMP TO MEET WITH PRESIDENT XI JINPING THURSDAY

[TRUMP XI JINPING MEETING] With American President Donald Trump expecting to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping this Thursday, it has been reported that the two leaders will be meeting to discuss a myriad of topics in an effort to strengthen diplomatic relations as well as find solutions that will allow both countries to discuss ways in that will allow them to overcome several key issues that stand between them as leaders. It is predicted that some of the topics that will be discussed during this year's Trump-Jinping meeting will be on-going tariffs, the applications of sanctions, import-export controls and its effects on rare earths, the America-Iran war of choice, and Artificial Intelligence.
It’s the position of geopolitical analyst that while President Trump will be pushing to secure a deal with President Xi Jinping, it’s the broader consensus that it’s Xi Jinping that “holds all the cards”. The reason for them taking the position is because of the exponential trade deficit between America and China that swings in the favor of China to the tune of over $1 trillion. This is despite America retracting the amount of trade it did with China in 2025 which accounted for an estimated 30% from 2024. It should be also noted that the current average tariff rate between the two countries stands at America imposing a 36.5% tariff rate to China's 31% average tariff rate on American products.
When it comes to Artificial Intelligence, both countries appear to be bullish about it. The Trump administration's push for the construction of more data centers, especially from companies that have the ability to hyper-scale, seems to be the order of the day. However, due to critical minerals, lack of skilled labor, and push back from many American citizens, it appears that President Trump is fighting a battle upstream in this aspect. For China, the application and integration of Artificial Intelligence into the greater Chinese society appears to overshadow President Trump efforts to stay competitive with China. Unlike the Americans, China doesn’t have to deal with privacy law such a HIPPA and the perspective of the Chinese people toward President Jinping’s administration seems to be more favorable than that of the Trump administration. While President Trump wants America to be the dominant force when it comes to Artificial Intelligence on the world stage, it is China who is currently sitting in that position.
It has been reported that there will be other high-profile guests that will be in attendance of Thursday’s meeting between the two leaders. Titans of business such as Nvidia's Jensen Huang, JP Morgan Chase Jamie diamond, dell Computer’s Michael dell, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, space x’s Elon musk, Google’s, Sundar Pichai, and Apple’s Tim Cook are expected to be in attendance at Thursday's meeting.
