[Raquel Hernandez Boujourne] Our exclusive interview with Raquel Hernandez Boujourne (R) was one that provides both us and the views with a certain level of enlightenment when it came to how Harris County funds not only tend to get misused, but how the those who according to Raquel Hernandez Boujourne walk a very fine line between wasteful spending and self-enrichment. It should be noted that she did a great job of articulating how the tax dollars of Harris County residents were used to fund Commissioner Adrian Garcia of Precinct 2’s cost heavy adult baseball game instead of utilizing those same funds to enhance the county’s much needed infrastructure repair along with other hard line social issues that the residents Harris County tend to raise huge concerns about.

Raquel Hernandez Boujourne is not only confident, but competent as not only an owner of a construction firm, but she’s also clear-sighted when it comes to how to ensure that the fiscal responsibility of Harris County should be held in check for the betterment of Harris County residents. She’s also exceptionally knowledgeable when it comes to the bidding process which gives her first-hand experience of what it’s like to not only bid on county projects, but how those projects are contractually awarded. Over the course of this exclusive interview, we touched on how Harris County residents served as guinea pigs for major disasters such as the winter storm that happened several years ago. We also talked about how Administrative Judges have been ousted without the consent of Harris County residents.

Another thing we touched on was the wasteful spending on the ship channel project which ended up costing Harris County residents almost double the cost due to hiring a firm that constructed a failed project in Florida. We talked about questionable if not shady practices when it comes to how public works contracts are awarded to certain businesses. Raquel Hernandez Boujourne also addressed how women in the construction industry are being stigmatized in the Harris County workforce. Raquel Hernandez Boujourne appears to be financially responsible, passionate, and a candidate that will push for accountability. Tune into this episode to learn more about Raquel Hernandez Boujourne and her perspective as a candidate for Harris County commission Precinct 1.
