[Dynamic Russian retaliation after Ukrainian drone bombing] In a strike of counterterrorism against Ukraine in retaliation for Ukraine’s terroristic drone bombing on a Russian fleet of aerial bombers, Russian has conducted large scale attacks overnight on strategic sites within Ukraine using long range precision guided weapons. It was reported that there was wave after wave of Russian retaliatory missile strikes from land, sea, and air that eliminated Ukrainian weapons production and repair facilities and sites as well as the storage sites of drone and arms depots. It was reported that 49 people were left wounded and three people killed.
This is one of Russian largest air strike campaigns against Ukraine that included the use of over 400 drones and 45 cruise and ballistic missiles. Both drone and missile attacks struck Kiev and other cities across Ukraine. Sources reported that Apartment buildings, warehouses, cafes, Ukraine energy sector, and administrative buildings were not spared by Russia’s retaliatory counter-offensive. Through the eyes of those that have been watching the Ukraine-Russia war unfold, last night's counterattacks on Ukrainian cities don’t seem to be a harsh enough punishment for the drone-based terrorist attack carried out by Ukraine earlier this week.
While President Putin is utilizing methods of restraint, there are many Russians that feel that President Putin's slow approach and war of attrition style towards Ukraine should be significantly ramped up because they feel that he should do more to quickly put an end to Ukraine’s war of provocation against Russia. How and when he will apply more military pressure on Ukraine is coming into question. This Russian counter-offensive seems to have left Ukraine playing the role of the victim by stating that Russia utilizes drones to carry out attacks on Ukrainians everyday as they have seemed to begin complaining to any world leader that will listen to them about the actions being taken by Russia.
This counter-offensive launched by Russia should not be considered the end as it is in fact simply a new chapter in how Russia will be combating the expansion of NATO and the neo-Nazi element in Ukraine.
