Starting on Monday 10th through the 14th, the S&P Global CERAWeek will be happening in Houston Texas. This four-day conference will feature some of the top CEO’s, industry experts, thought leaders, and business owners from the sectors of finance, energy, technology, oil and gas, as well as policy and regulation, and of course geopolitics. Other highlighted topics of discussion will be conservation, sustainability and Artificial Intelligence amongst many others. This international conference has been going on since 1983 by an energy and research firm that was started in Cambridge Massachusetts called the “Cambridge Energy Research Associates”; hence the acronym “CERA”. CERA was founded by Daniel Howard Yergin and James Rosenfeld.

According to the CERAWeek website, CERAWeek is:

“CERAWeek is comprised of three mutually reinforcing platforms: The Executive Conference, the Innovation Agora, and Partner Programs. The industry's foremost thought leaders convene to cultivate relationships and exchange transformative ideas. Our programs are designed to advance new ideas, insight and solutions to the biggest challenges facing the future of energy, the environment, and climate.”

Daniel Howard Yergin a Pulitzer Prize winner, author, and is considered by many the world over to be an energy and research guru that is currently serving as Vice Chairman of both the S&P Global and CERAWeek and advisor to many prominent figured within the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Mr. Yergin also played a vital role on American President Donald Trump’s 2016, 16 member team known as the “President's Strategic and Policy Forum”; their job was to specialize in the power dynamics of policy, and direction of American energy, oil, and gas.

When it comes to James Rosenfeld, he’s had a robust 40 plus year career in the energy, oil, and gas sector and is seen as the tip of the sphere when it comes to innovations within the energy sector and when it comes to energy transition, he holds the position that:

“A “transition” is not an abrupt change from one “reality” to another but rather a shift that unfolds generationally over considerable time, and one that may lead to greater diversity in the energy marketplace.”

With the world changing faster than ever, the logic of James Rosenfeld on energy transitioning resonates now more than ever. James Rosenfeld is also the creator of what is known as Innovation Agora. Innovation Agora is a sort of  “hub” that was created by James Rosenfeld where a “meeting of the minds” could take place and both exchange ideas and dialogue on solutions regarding how to further develop applications within the energy and other various sectors.

According to the CERAWeek website, the Agora Program:

“is dedicated to advancing solutions to the greatest challenges facing our energy and environmental future. It brings together a community of technologists, startup entrepreneurs, VCs and investors, thought leaders, policy makers, and corporate innovators—all committed to exploring new pathways for lower emissions, affordability and reliability.”

The 2025 S&P CERAWeek is filled with a plethora of speakers that will be flocking to Houston from all over the world that will be covering a diverse range of topics throughout the four-day conference. There are also multiple session formats that range from plenary, spotlight, dialogue, roundtables and more.  If you work within the oil and gas, artificial intelligence, energy, engineering, geopolitics, technology, government and policy, logistics, trade and supply, finance artificial intelligence, transportation, mining, climate and sustainability, then we urge you to click the following link to register and find time to attend the 2025 CERAWeek.
