[Trevor Chandler Flock Camera System] When it comes to fighting crime in Houston, nearly every resident takes the position that something should be done about crime; that is until they perceive that their privacy is at stake. While law enforcement agencies have not only been struggling to hold on to the Police Officers that they already have in their ranks while struggling even harder to recruit new Police Officers, many police agencies along with their respective city, county, town, and districts have looked towards the integration of remote camera systems to aid them in retarding crime in the communities under their jurisdiction and that they serve.
Responding to calls for help when it comes to combating crime is Flock Camera Systems. While Houston residents and other residents of other locations around the country are wondering if the flock camera systems are equipped with things like face detection and night vision, it was Trevor Chandler, the Director of Public Affairs of the Flock Camera System that address the concerns of Houston residents head on with Officer Lee of the Houston Police Department’s South Service Center that also spoke with attendees of Houston NAACP Chapter. Both Trevor Chandler and Officer Lee reassured concerned Houston residents that the Flock Camera System only read the license plates of the cars that pass by so that that license plate could be not only stored but can be recalled at a later date if a car was used in the commission of a crime. We urge you to watch this video in its entirety for your own edification.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
When it comes to addressing and dealing with the rampant amount of crime in Houston, Texas and elsewhere in the United States, every effort should be made at the disposal of Security, Police on all levels and federal law enforcement to severely curb crime across the country. The tin foil hat conspiracy theory that the local, state, and federal government could possibly violate your privacy is nothing but an excuse that not only harms those that believe it, but those that are in desperate need of highly advanced surveillance systems to keep them safe. The truth of the matter is not only do local, state, and federal governments “watch you”, but by National Law there must be a “Back Door” installed in all electronic applications.
We at VEDA World News advocate that law enforcement should have the ability to not only have systems in place to read license plates, but to read and store the faces of people unrestricted without the roadblock of HIPPA, privacy laws, and constitutional amendments. We as a society have perpetually proven that the average citizen cannot be trusted to effectively or effectively protect themselves nor do many of them possess the competency to do so; that’s why having surveillance systems such as the Flock Camera System are so important. It should be noted that People who willfully engage in criminal behavior don’t play by the rules and neither should we if we expect to protect ourselves from them.
