[Trump Iran jail Journalist F-15E Strike Eagle shot down] With Iran shooting down a F-15E Eagle a feat that comes on the heels of Iran shooting down an F-35 last week, the most expensive American military fighter-jet to date, resulted in the Americans suffering international embarrassment. Because of that, President Trump has now threatened to imprison a journalist who released the information to the public and ultimately the international community. President Trump was quoted saying:

“We’re going to go to the media company that released it, and we’re going to say, ‘National security, give it up [the source] or go to jail. The person that did the story will go to jail if he doesn’t say.”

“It became a much more difficult operation because a leaker leaked,”. “All of a sudden, the entire country of Iran knew that there was a pilot that was somewhere on their land that was fighting for his life.”

With Iran shooting down this latest American fighter jet, it sparked the Americans to deploy military assets to locate and extract the pilot of the aircraft. The extraction of the American pilot in Iran included an estimated 155 American aircraft that consisted of 48 refueling tankers, 13 specialized rescue planes, four bombers, and special operators. Although the Americans are hailing the mission to extract the pilot of the plane that was shot down by Iran a success, this mission didn’t come without American losses.  During the course of a mission, two Black Hawk helicopters were hit by Iranian fire, two transport planes were taken out of action, and an A-10 Warthog had also taken significant damage as it flew past Iranian airspace and nearly crash landed in Kuwait.

OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS

It is widely known that the sources that provide journalists with information are deemed to be protected within the international community. With President Trump seeking to imprison a journalist unless they “give up “their source makes the Trump Administration look not only desperate and weak, but it also further pushes the notion that the Trump Administration is and has not been transparent. While it is true that all governments engage in the practice of some form of censorship, President Trump’s current actions to weaponize the American criminal justice system to imprison a journalist and or their source speak volumes to the lengths to which the President Trump will go to lash out on those he deems to hold a position that differs from his and his agenda as an American President.

Even more than that, the downing of both an F-15E strike Eagle and a F-35 not only degrades America’s ability to project force and dominance in the air, but the fact that such an expensive fighter planes can be downed by lower grade weapon systems places a shadow of doubt around the ability of American weapon systems to be a viable source of force protection on the international stage. The downing of the F-35 last week and now the F-15E Strike Eagle severely cripples three decades and trillions of dollars in American sheath technology and fighter jet manufacturing capabilities.
