[Trump Russia nuclear escalation] American escalations with Russia continue to climb and American President Donald trump ordered the deploying of two nuclear submarines to sail closer to Russia. While Russia views this as direct provocation and demonstration of American aggression, President Trump is embarking on this move due to taking offense to former Russian President and now Russian Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev statements on social media. Trump stated his social media network “Truth Social”:
“I have ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that.”
Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev responded by stating:
“Russia is doing everything right and will continue to proceed along its own path”. “And about India's and Russia's "dead economies” and “entering dangerous territory” – well, let him remember his favorite movies about “the walking dead” as well as how dangerous the fabled “dead hand” can be.”
The “Dead Hand” that Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev was speaking about is in reference to the “Perimetr System” of the former Soviet Union (USSR). The Dead Hand is an autonomous system that allows for the firing of nuclear weapons should both Russia suffer a nuclear first strike from an opposing nation that results in the deaths of Russian senior leadership. Geopolitical Analysts within the international community have pointed out that while Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev chooses words of discretion over President Trump’s weapons of destruction, it's easy to see diplomatically who is the more mature of the two.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
While President Trump states that America is totally prepared for nuclear war with Russia, America’s track record of winning wars stated the opposite. Failed American wars such as the American Algerian war, Korean war, the Vietnam war, the Bay of Big’s, and of course the Iraq and Afghanistan come to mind. Then there are the domestic wars America has failed to win within its own borders like its war on poverty, war on drugs, and its war on gun violence. Let’s not forget that recently America failed to beat Ansuallah (Houthis) in Yemen. So, the idea of America being ready for war with another armed nuclear power such as Russia is rooted more in fantasy than reality.
Besides, although President Trump states America as a country is ready for nuclear war with Russia, it doesn’t seem as if the American people are ready for war with anybody. Currently, the American people are still suffering from what is known as “war fatigue”, and with new socio-economic pressures being placed on the majority of Americans; Americans are anything but happy to go to war with anyone or over anything.
The recent provocative actions of President Trump will only promote even more geopolitical tensions than what is already on the table with Russia. The question we are asking is what if Russia deployed two nuclear powered submarines off the coast of Cuba just to even the odds? This is geopolitical Food for thought.
