[Trump strikes Nigeria ISIS] Today the Trump Administration launched an airstrike against ISIS in northern Nigeria despite initial pushback from Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu due to the perceived targeted killing of Christians in the country by ISIS. The current number killed due to today's strike is currently unknown. While President Tinubu has made it clear in conjunction with eye witness reports, Christians have not been targeted in any large part in Nigeria. President Trump stated on his social media app Truth Social that:

“As Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries! I have previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.”

Nigerian President Tinubu also took to social media via X and stated:

“I stand committed to doing everything within my power to enshrine religious freedom in Nigeria and to protect Christians, Muslims, and all Nigerians from violence.”

With Nigeria being nearly equally split between the Muslim and Christian population, they still account for a combined estimated 230 million people residing in Nigeria. Within the 230 million people that identify with either being Christian or Muslim, the vast number of those killed tend to be young Muslims in Nigeria and not Christian. While there has been concerns of the growing number of ISIS fighters within not only Nigeria but throughout the Sahel region of Africa in conjunction with America and other nations attempting to combat terrorism, many geopolitical analysts remain skeptical that neither America or the collective west can do anything to stop the number of terrorists from increasing or the acts of terrorism that’s taking place.

OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS

It can be easily recalled that Nigerian President Tinubu denounced the idea of the Americans executing any kinds of airstrike within the borders of Nigeria citing claims of their national sovereignty being violated. The question that needs to be asked is “why has President Tinubu changed his position to allow the Americans to conduct an airstrike within his country given America's track record of failing to stop ISIS, ISIL, the Taliban, Ansarullah (Houthis), Hezbollah, and Hamas? Was there a deal cut in which President Tinubu would have benefited from or was President Tinubu coerced into allowing the Americans to essentially use his country for target practice?

Another question that should be asked is why is President Trump starting to care about who’s getting killed now as Israel who has not only annexed Palestinian land by force and  has created a man-made humanitarian crisis in which the Palestinians were forced into starvation and famine; but why has he remained both silent and complicit in Israel killing over 70,000 Palestinians? What makes the thought of Christian lives any more different than the lives of Palestinians and why does the false narrative of Muslims killing Christians in Nigeria resonate with President Trump so much?

There seems to be more questions than answers.
